PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jalaluddin Aziz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cody Chalke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Aziz comes to the ring accompanied by Dalshar Project - Afghan Rastaman. Cody Chalke has the eye of the tiger tonight.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 1 - 1, fighting out of London, Cody Chalke!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Hirohito Nitta and Yuuki Gou.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aziz swings widly with a right hand
and Chalke counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Aziz misses with a jab to the body
and Chalke counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Aziz changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Chalke looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Chalke really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Aziz. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Chalke felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Chalke ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Aziz moves away.

Aziz lands an overhand right.
Chalke drops his hands momentarily and Aziz takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
A left lands for Aziz.

Chalke throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Aziz swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Chalke.
Chalke connects with a body shot that sends Aziz's belly button to the back.
Aziz lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Chalke fails with a takedown attempt.
Aziz scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Aziz's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Chalke fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Aziz manages to avoid it.

Chalke is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Aziz's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Aziz's back!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Aziz escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Chalke gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Aziz has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Chalke doesn't defend quickly enough and Aziz has managed to lock this one up! Can Chalke escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Aziz on a fantastic submission victory.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:43 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Jalaluddin Aziz!
