With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Diego Alvarez!
The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Dirk Anderson and Michael Johnstone.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alvarez scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Rydell shoots in for a double leg but Alvarez sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Rydell has been working on his balance at Next Gen MMA (Only Elite coaches), so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Alvarez.

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Rydell here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

Rydell drops back looking for a leg! Alvarez is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Alvarez manages to kick Rydell off! Rydell jumps back into Alvarez's guard.

Diego Alvarez showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Alvarez got a little sloppy there for a moment and Rydell has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Alvarez has managed to get both his arms back between Rydell's legs - danger averted.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Alvarez accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
