Richard gets caught flat footed, as Tamlan shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Richard avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Tamlan is trying to control the position but Richard postures up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Richard shoots in for a double leg but Tamlan sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Tamlan tries to counter with a clinch but Richard shakes him off and moves away.

Tamlan tries to close the distance and clinch but Richard swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Tamlan connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Richard's hands.

Tamlan fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Richard, pushing him back against the cage.

Tamlan has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Richard regains guard immediately.

Tamlan tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Richard defends well and Tamlan ends up having to push Richard into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
