Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Herman Slater (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Donerverie The Dragon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Herman Slater!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Donerverie The Dragon!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Alan Glass and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Slater stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Slater wants it to stay on the feet.

Herman Slater has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Donerverie The Dragon.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The Dragon tries to pull guard but Slater forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
The Dragon jumps guard but Slater stands there with The Dragon around his waist. The Dragon gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Slater wants to get back to striking at distance but The Dragon won't allow it.

Slater tries to break free but The Dragon pushes him back against the cage.

The Dragon manages to break the clinch.
The fight stays on the outside here - The Dragon looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Slater changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
The Dragon misses with a head kick.
The Dragon rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Slater moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

The Dragon moves into the clinch successfully.

The Dragon breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

The Dragon rushes Slater and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Slater tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. The Dragon just stands there and leans against the cage.

The Dragon shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Slater as he avoids it easily.
Slater changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
The Dragon tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
The Dragon looks winded!
The Dragon throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Slater half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.

and Slater counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Slater.

The Dragon utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Slater throws a strike but The Dragon rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Herman Slater will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

The Dragon dives in for a single leg takedown but Slater sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

The Dragon dives in and grabs Slater's left leg, looking for a takedown. Slater pushes down on The Dragon's head and hops out.
The Dragon shoots in but no luck this time.
Slater doesn't manage to clinch there - The Dragon circles away.
Slater really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

The Dragon shoots in for a double leg but Slater sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Slater wants to clinch.
Slater fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
The Dragon ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Slater moves away.
The Dragon tries to score a power double leg takedown but Slater sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten The Dragon somewhat.

The Dragon shoots in and drives through. Slater sprawls well.
Slater appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
The Dragon rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Slater moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Donerverie The Dragon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Slater tries to close the distance and clinch up but The Dragon swats him away and circles back towards the center.

The Dragon lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Herman Slater is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

The Dragon closes the distance and pushes Slater back into the cage.

The Dragon tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Slater just stands there and leans against the cage.

That was a close second round but I would say that Herman Slater will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Slater throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around The Dragon's waist but The Dragon gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Slater off to one side.

The Dragon looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Slater is fending him off so far but The Dragon persists. Nope, Slater circles away and we're back to standing.

The Dragon fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Slater, pushing him back against the cage.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Slater's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
The referee is keeping an eye on The Dragon - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Slater is pressed up against the cage. The Dragon has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Slater down to the mat. Slater avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

The Dragon takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
