The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boyd shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Maximov as he avoids it easily.
Maximov moves into the clinch.
Maximov misses with a punch on the inside.
Boyd wants to take the fight to the mat but Maximov manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Maximov prevents a takedown attempt there.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sammy Boyd. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Maximov throws a punch but it's blocked by Boyd.
Boyd struggles to land a body shot inside as Maximov controls his hands.

Maximov is pressed up against the cage. Boyd has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Maximov down to the mat. Maximov avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Maximov swats away the attempt to clinch by Boyd.
Maximov throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Maximov stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Maximov closes the distance and clinches.
Boyd lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Maximov scores with a shot to the side of Boyd's head.

Maximov working the clinch nicely. Boyd is working for position but Maximov cracks him with a big knee to the head! Boyd crumples up against the cage and Maximov lands two more shots before the ref can save Boyd! This one is all over!
