PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tomasz Rzasa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jacob Hillson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hillson has chosen Treat u better as his entrance music. Jacob Hillson is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tomasz Rzasa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jacob Hillson!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Hirohito Nitta and Kenichi Hosakawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rzasa looking to score a takedown here. Hillson is defending well but Rzasa drives through and ends up in Hillson's guard.
Rzasa throwing strikes from guard but Hillson blocks nicely.
Rzasa sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Hillson wants to stand but Rzasa is controlling the position.
Rzasa is stalling in the full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rzasa has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Hillson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rzasa. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Rzasa tries to free his leg and advance position but Hillson is retaining full guard.
Rzasa looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Rzasa seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Hillson for as long as he can get away with.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Hillson throws a head kick that misses.
A counter left hand to the body from Rzasa misses its target.

Rzasa closes the distance and clinches.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Rzasa has Hillson pressed against the cage.
Hillson comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
The referee is keeping an eye on Rzasa - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Hillson wants to break free but Rzasa has control.
Rzasa has Hillson pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Hillson manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Rzasa pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Rzasa gets a double leg takedown into Hillson's guard.
Rzasa is looking to stand up but Hillson won't let him.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hillson preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Rzasa slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hillson has a closed guard, preventing Rzasa from standing up.
Rzasa showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Rzasa could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Rzasa is pushing down on Hillson's leg trying to pass to half guard. Hillson is fighting to maintain full guard but Rzasa has managed to sneak the leg through.
Rzasa passes to full mount!
Rzasa content just to control the position here.
Hillson working to try and regain half guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Hillson is trying to stand up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tomasz Rzasa dominated that round.

Rzasa attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.

Rzasa dives in and scores a takedown into Hillson's guard.
Rzasa stops Hillson from standing up.
Rzasa not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Rzasa continues to stall.
Hillson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Rzasa postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rzasa stops Hillson from standing up.
Rzasa slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Hillson is breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Rzasa rushes Hillson and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Rzasa decides to pull guard.
Rzasa throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Rzasa pulls Hillson in close to prevent any damage.
Rzasa thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Hillson is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Rzasa has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Hillson is looking to defend but Rzasa has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Hillson! Rzasa pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Hillson taps out and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Tomasz Rzasa!
Jacob Hillson was interviewed post fight and said 'I Foughted well but he got me fair and square.'.
