Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Arden Carter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Derrick Browne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carter misses with a takedown attempt - Browne sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Browne moves into range and clinches up with Carter.

Browne has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Carter is trying to keep an underhook but Browne manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Carter manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Derrick Browne seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Browne throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Carter avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Carter drops down looking for a counter takedown but Browne sprawls and moves away.

Browne feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Browne stands and throws Carter's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Browne is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Carter is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Browne wants to finish this one by submission but Carter is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Browne.

Carter really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
