PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Shad Manning (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pulover Teixeira (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Teixeira has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Manning tries a low kick but Teixeira avoids it.

Manning closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Teixeira's guard.

Teixeira wriggles free and stands up.
Teixeira throws a hook to the side of Manning's head but Manning sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Manning tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Teixeira manages to circle out of the way.

Teixeira gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Manning to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Manning lands a couple of elbows.
Manning could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Teixeira is working an open guard so Manning takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Manning throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Teixeira was covering up waiting for the punch and Manning finishes the takedown easily into guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Manning thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

The crowd are getting pretty annoyed with Manning for his constant stalling in the clinch and are voicing their displeasure.

Manning has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Teixeira uses from the top position.
Teixeira is looking to advance position but Manning has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Teixeira is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Manning is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Teixeira is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Teixeira flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Manning anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Teixeira and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Manning slips an arm under Teixeira chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Manning has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Manning is squeezing on Teixeira like an anaconda would it's prey. Teixeira fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
