Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Satoshi Tanahashi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and AC Slater (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tanahashi comes to the cage accompanied by Blood Stain Child - Stargazer. Slater has chosen Stop What Ya Doin as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Slater throws a series of punches but Tanahashi avoids them all with ease.
Tanahashi misses with an uppercut.
Slater throws a hook but Tanahashi avoids it easily.
A big right from Slater misses.
A combination from Tanahashi does no damage.
Tanahashi misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Slater unleashes a big counter combination but Tanahashi bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
A solid body kick from Tanahashi.
Tanahashi connects with a body shot.
Slater ducks under a wild hook from Tanahashi.
Slater misses with a straight right.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Tanahashi catches Slater with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

Tanahashi pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Tanahashi connects with a leg kick. Slater looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

Slater ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Tanahashi moves away.
Slater lands a jab-cross combination.

It looks like Satoshi Tanahashi has been cut.
Tanahashi throws a jab but it's blocked by Slater.
Tanahashi throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
A swing and a miss from Slater.
Tanahashi tried to counter with a leg kick but Slater avoided it.
Tanahashi loads up on a big right hand but Slater slips the punch.
A chopping leg kick lands by Tanahashi.

and Slater counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Slater throws a body punch but Tanahashi moves out of range.
Slater throws a right and a left that both miss.

Slater throws out a counter right but Tanahashi avoids it with no problem.
Slater takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Slater throws a big shot that misses.
Tanahashi misses the jab.
Tanahashi tries to land a front kick but Slater steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

enabling Slater to counter with a crisp jab.
Slater shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Tanahashi as he jumps to the side.
Tanahashi swings away with a body shot that misses
and Slater counters with a series of strikes. Tanahashi will be more careful next time no doubt.
Tanahashi throws the kick towards the body but Slater avoids it.
And Slater tries to counter it with a takedown but Tanahashi pushes his down on his head and steps out.

and Slater cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Jab, jab by Tanahashi - just one landing.
Slater throws a lazy uppercut
and Tanahashi connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Slater throws the left hand but Tanahashi avoids the punch easily.
Tanahashi misses with a looping left.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Tanahashi moves out of range of the strikes.
A quick step to the side and Tanahashi tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Tanahashi.
Tanahashi throws a sloppy head kick
letting Slater counter with a right hand.
Slater fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Slater takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Slater lands a nice hook to Tanahashi's body. Tanahashi takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Slater blocks the body kick.
Tanahashi throws out a loose jab but Slater uses good head movement to avoid it.
Tanahashi fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Slater has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Satoshi Tanahashi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Tanahashi jabbing away but nothing is landing.
A right-left combo lands from Slater.
Slater might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Tanahashi misses with a body kick.

Slater has a takedown stuffed.
Satoshi Tanahashi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of AC Slater.

Slater throws a hook but Tanahashi avoids it easily.

Tanahashi misses with a low kick.
Slater drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Tanahashi defends it well.
A slow jab from Slater misses its intended target.

Tanahashi buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Slater keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but AC Slater will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Satoshi Tanahashi's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Tanahashi gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Slater to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Slater loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Slater has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Tanahashi to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Slater is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Tanahashi pulls down on the head and he's put Slater to sleep! This one is all over!
