Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Shawn Michaels!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Margot Robbie!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Donatello Bradman and Ben Hemmingworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Michaels closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Michaels has clasped his hands together around Robbie's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Robbie is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Michaels is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Robbie is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Robbie has escaped and now he's on top!


Michaels is working an open guard so Robbie takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Robbie is fighting off a takedown attempt but Michaels is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Robbie to the mat. Robbie regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Michaels postures up in Robbie's guard and throws a big left but Robbie blocks it.
Robbie has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Cozad MMA Sydney. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.
Michaels tries to free his leg and advance position but Robbie is retaining full guard.

Michaels remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Robbie is looking for a sweep. Michaels is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Michaels stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Robbie to get to his feet.

Michaels turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Michaels manages to end up in side control.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Michaels tries to pass the half guard into mount. Robbie knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Michaels is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Robbie is looking for a sweep. Michaels is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Michaels has Robbie pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Michaels pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Robbie tumbling to the mat - Michaels dives into Robbie's guard.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Robbie has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Michaels is working away from the top position though.
Michaels uses his free foot to push down on Robbie's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Robbie.
Robbie is desperately trying to improve his position but Michaels has a good base and remains in mount.

Michaels is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Robbie has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Robbie!

Robbie is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
