The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hoppataki will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Hoppataki shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Lara pinned against the cage. Lara gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Lara gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Lara has Hoppataki pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Lara pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Hoppataki tumbling to the mat - Lara dives into Hoppataki's guard.

Hoppataki is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Lara could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hoppataki had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Lara defends it easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hoppataki is trying to control the position here. Lara has hold of a guillotine from the top though... oh, that looks naaaaasty, will Hoppataki tap? Yes he will! The fight is all over! Lara jumps to his feet and is applauded loudly by the crowd.
