Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between James Penn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hakeem Berzevaco (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Penn comes into the arena with Everything in its right place blaring out of the sound system. Berzevaco comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Kaksi vanhaa hinttaria kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! On his way into the cage it seems that James Penn has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily James Penn seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 35 - 28 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Hakeem Berzevaco!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Paul Gruel and Roger Salmon.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Penn lands a jab-cross combination.
Nice body punch from Berzevaco.
Berzevaco scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
A swing and a miss from Berzevaco.
Penn lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Penn on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Penn dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Penn blocks a head kick by Berzevaco.

Penn throws a left that rocks Berzevaco and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! Penn dives into side control, looking to finish! Can Berzevaco regain composure!


Berzevaco is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Berzevaco is trying to buck Penn off.
Berzevaco is still in real trouble! Can Penn finish him?
Berzevaco is trying to improve his position.
Berzevaco seems to have recovered his senses.

Penn tries for a kimura but Berzevaco is defending well.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Berzevaco tries to get back to half guard but can't.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Berzevaco pushes Penn away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Penn gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Berzevaco has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.
Berzevaco gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Penn scoring with strikes but Berzevaco is staying in there.
Penn wants to control the pace but Berzevaco is squirming around nicely.
BOOM! Penn connects with a massive shot to the dome!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Penn is landing with some decent strikes but Berzevaco is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Penn can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Berzevaco is looking to escape.

Penn has hold of an arm here, looking to extend it. He's committed to the armbar attempt here! Will he get it?! Yes! Berzevaco is forced to tap!
