The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Grant shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Lucas's guard.

Lucas pushes Grant off and scrambles back to his feet.

Lucas feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Lucas wants to control from the top but Grant keeps moving.

Grant had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Lucas defends it easily.
Lucas content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Grant might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Lucas lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Grant wants to stand up but Lucas is controlling him.

Grant could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Lucas won't allow Grant to get back to his feet.

Lucas has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Grant wants to get back to his feet but Lucas is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Lucas pushes down on Grant's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Lucas throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Grant has his hands clasped together but Lucas breaks the hold and Grant is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Lucas!
