The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Da Silva shoots in looking for a takedown but Toddumai manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Da Silva's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Toddumai is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Da Silva shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Da Silva tries to score a power double leg takedown but Toddumai sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Da Silva somewhat.

Da Silva shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Toddumai's guard.

Toddumai has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Da Silva is working away from the top position though.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Toddumai here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.
