Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Clifton Hale (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wilson Carlos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wilson Carlos has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Clifton Hale's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Clifton Hale!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Wilson Carlos!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Thiago Cunha and Mauricio Rocha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carlos lands with a good body shot.
Hale changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Carlos tries to avoid it but Hale manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Carlos to the ground. Carlos escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Carlos lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.

Hale is breathing heavily.
Carlos dives in and grabs Hale's left leg, looking for a takedown. Hale pushes down on Carlos's head and hops out.
Carlos scores with a shot to the body.

Carlos shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Carlos showed some decent athleticism there.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Carlos is looking to take a break and control but Hale is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Carlos really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hale. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Well, if Carlos is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Let's hope that Carlos has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Hale really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Hale rushes Carlos and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Hale drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Carlos gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Carlos's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Carlos fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Hale sprawls well initially but Carlos persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Carlos seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Carlos decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Carlos feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Hale wants to get back to his feet but Carlos passes into half guard.

Wilson Carlos showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Horrible takedown attempt by Carlos or perhaps it was just good defense by Hale, which made it look bad.

We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Carlos.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Carlos wants to control from the top but Hale keeps moving.

Carlos gets to his feet. Hale looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Carlos looks to score with a jab to the body but Hale is just out of range.
Hale appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Hale defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Carlos.
Clifton Hale has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Wilson Carlos.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Hale enables Carlos to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Hale manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Clifton Hale has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Wilson Carlos is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
