The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Limaedo misses with a double jab

and Schwartz moves into the clinch.

Schwartz is trying to trip Limaedo. He has hold of a leg but Limaedo is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Schwartz persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Limaedo has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Schwartz can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Limaedo looking for a sweep. Not yet Limaedo, not yet.
Schwartz is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Limaedo is looking for a triangle here but Schwartz uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Schwartz is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Limaedo has escaped the position, nice work there.
Schwartz could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Limaedo tries to control but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad.

Schwartz jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Limaedo is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Limaedo and Schwartz has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Schwartz doesn't have the hooks in and Limaedo manages to turn into his guard.
Schwartz is striking from the bottom but Limaedo uses the opportunity to pass into half guard.

Limaedo postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Schwartz to stand up.
Schwartz gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

It looks like Shaun Schwartz has been cut.
Limaedo falls off balance throwing a combination
and Schwartz counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Limaedo thinking.
Limaedo fails to land with a series of punches.
Schwartz darts in looking for a takedown but Limaedo gets double underhooks and turns Schwartz into the cage.
Limaedo looks like he wants to counter punch here.

Schwartz moves into range and clinches up with Limaedo.
Limaedo wants to break the clinch but can't.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Schwartz breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Schwartz shoots in for a double leg but Limaedo sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Schwartz rushes Limaedo and presses him up against the cage.
Schwartz tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Limaedo avoids it.
Schwartz digs a right hand underneath Limaedo's ribcage. Limaedo let out a lung full of air as it connected.

Schwartz gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Limaedo tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Schwartz manages to move to mount!

Schwartz goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Limaedo turns into him and now he's in Schwartz's guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Limaedo is pushing down on Schwartz's leg trying to pass to half guard. Schwartz is fighting to maintain full guard but Limaedo has managed to sneak the leg through.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Schwartz is looking to escape.
Schwartz is looking to improve his position.
Schwartz is not content to let Limaedo control the position.
Schwartz works his way to full guard. Good work.
Limaedo preventing the sweep.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Shaun Schwartz will probably get the nod.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Limaedo throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Schwartz's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Limaedo dives in looking to finish as Schwartz flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Limaedo's strikes! Limaedo is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Schwartz's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Schwartz was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.
