PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kain Veldspar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kru Ka Mali (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mali has chosen ALL! by Descendents as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kain Veldspar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Veldspar misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Veldspar changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Mali tries to avoid it but Veldspar manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Mali to the ground. Mali escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Veldspar avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Veldspar feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Kain Veldspar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Veldspar shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Mali's guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Veldspar is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Mali is just riding it out for now. Veldspar eventually gives up the hold.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Mali is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
