Rude comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Gunslinger kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Dominic Rude has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

With a record of 30 - 21 - 2, fighting out of Tokyo, Dominic Rude!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Shigeki Fujiwara and Yukihiro Yamamoto.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ciprianni lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Rude rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Ciprianni counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
A head kick by Rude misses
and Ciprianni counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Rude thinking.
A solid leg kick lands there for Ciprianni.
Ciprianni scores with a leg kick.
Good standup being displayed there by Ciprianni as he connects with a hook.
Rude jabbing away but nothing is landing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rude darts in trying to clinch
and Ciprianni counters with a three punch combo that has Rude backing up. Rude nods at Ciprianni to acknowledge the strikes.

Ciprianni shoots in for a takedown but Rude shows good takedown defense.

Ciprianni clinches up against the cage.
Rude working hard to break the clinch.
Rude is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Ciprianni has Rude pressed against the cage, preventing Rude from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Ciprianni lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Rude stalls.
Ciprianni prevents Rude from breaking the clinch.
Ciprianni lands a hook to the side of the head.
Ciprianni looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Ciprianni lands a left hand that snaps the head of Rude backwards.

An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Rude.
Ciprianni tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Rude's elbow.
A frustrated look appears on Rude's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Ciprianni prevents Rude from breaking the clinch.
Still in the clinch, Rude scores with a nice short uppercut.
Rude is looking to break free of the clinch but Ciprianni has double underhooks.
Rude is trying to push Ciprianni away but Ciprianni has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Rude effectively controlling the action here.

Ciprianni lands on the inside with an uppercut.

Rude escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Rude throws a hook but Ciprianni avoids it easily.

Rude drives through and clinches with Ciprianni against the cage.
Rude tries to throw a body punch but Ciprianni avoids it by throwing Rude back against the cage.
Rude looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Rude wants to get back to striking at distance but Ciprianni won't allow it.

The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Rude tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

Rude breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Danny Ciprianni seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rude takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Ciprianni moves into range and clinches up with Rude.
Rude tries to break free but Ciprianni pushes him back against the cage.
Ciprianni throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Rudes head.
Ciprianni scores with an uppercut up the middle.

Rude lands a shoulder strike.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Ciprianni creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Rude goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Ciprianni lands with a left to the head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Rude tries to land knees in the clinch but Ciprianni avoids the damage to the body.
Nice body punch from Ciprianni - that landed with a thud.
Ciprianni doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Rude tries to break free but Ciprianni pushes him back against the cage.
Rude wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Ciprianni has him pressed against the cage.
Ciprianni keeps control of Rude as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Ciprianni dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage.
Ciprianni keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Rude's efforts to push away.
Rude looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Ciprianni throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Rudes head.
Ciprianni stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Danny Ciprianni dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Ciprianni fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Rude on the side of the head.
