Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy Block (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kingsley Nasir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jimmy Block!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 12 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kingsley Nasir!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Dean Styles and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nasir tries to close the distance and clinch but Block swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Nasir fails with an attempt to clinch.
Nasir has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Block throws a low kick but it's checked well by Nasir.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Crunch! Block slams his shin into Nasir's torso.
Nasir checks a low kick from Block.
Nasir tries to clinch up but Block circles away and keeps his distance.
Block throws a sloppy head kick and Nasir moves out of range easily.
Nasir looks for a takedown but Block sprawls well.
It looked like Block was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Nasir keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Nasir motions for Block to come forward. Nasir throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Nasir takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Block throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.

Nasir shoots in but no luck this time.
A big right from Block misses.
Nasir swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Block goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

Nasir shoots in and bounces Block off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Block looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Block keeping full guard, as Nasir tries to pass.
Block lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Block is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Nasir is controlling Block's posture.
Block stays in close to Nasir's body and controls the position.
Nasir looking to control.
Block stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Nasir swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Nasir working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Block doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Block manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Block controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Block got a little sloppy there for a moment and Nasir has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Block has managed to get both his arms back between Nasir's legs - danger averted.
Block is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Block trying to control the action but Nasir is working from the bottom.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Block wants to lay and pray for a moment but Nasir keeps working.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

You can see the frustration on Nasir's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Nasir closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Block is refusing to be controlled, as Nasir sits in half guard.
Block tries to get to full guard but Nasir has control of the leg.
Nasir looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Block is looking to reverse the position.
Block sneaks back into half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Nasir connects with a nice short shot to Block's temple.

Nasir not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Nasir postures up.
Nasir controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Jimmy Block overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Nasir takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Block throws a half hearted mid kick.
Nasir wants to clinch up but Block keeps it at a distance.
Block misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Nasir is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.

Block feints and then cracks Nasir's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Nasir down.
Nasir tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Block paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Block jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit.
Kingsley Nasir seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Block fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Nasir has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Block with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Nasir tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Block paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Nasir shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Block defends it nicely.
Nasir stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Block.
Kingsley Nasir is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Nasir rushes Block and presses him up against the cage.
A head punch on the inside from Block fails to land.
Block lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Nasir backwards.
Block throws a head punch that misses.
Nasir jumps guard but Block stands there with Nasir around his waist. Nasir gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Nasir checks a leg kick.
Block lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.

Block tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.

Nasir rushes Block and presses him up against the cage.
Block dodges an elbow strike from Nasir.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Block is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Jimmy Block has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kingsley Nasir.

Block blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Nasir throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Blocks head.
Block throws a punch but it's blocked by Nasir.

Nasir darts in and clinches Block up against the cage.
Block fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Block prevents the takedown attempt.
Block works on Nasir's body with a couple of short punches.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jimmy Block dominated that second round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Nasir tries a head kick but it misses.
Block cracks Nasir with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Block throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Block lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Nasir tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Block manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Block throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Nasir shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Block manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Nasir is working Block over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Nasir scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Block escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Nasir gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Block is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Nasir wants to control from the top but Block keeps moving.
Nasir postures up.

Block working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Nasir.
Nasir stands up over Block, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Nasir uses his free foot to push down on Block's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Block.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Nasir works over Block with some ground and pound from guard.
Nasir lands a couple of digs.
Nasir slips nicely into half guard.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Nasir lands a nice short elbow.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Nasir controlling the action here.

Nasir is looking for a kimura but Block is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Nasir to get the leverage.

Block wants to control but Nasir is keeping busy.

Kingsley Nasir comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
