PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dave Hanna (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Trendar Mighty (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hanna comes to the cage accompanied by Lunatic Fringe-Red Rider. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mighty fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Hanna sprawls well initially but Mighty persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Mighty seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Mighty prevents Hanna from improving his position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mighty looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Mighty is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Mighty is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Hanna!

Mighty stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
Mighty fails with an attempt to clinch.
Mighty shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Hanna but Hanna pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Hanna keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Hanna moves into the clinch.
Hanna drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Hanna drops down looking for an ankle pick but Mighty pulls his leg out and moves away.

Trendar Mighty dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

and Mighty counters with a single leg into guard. Hanna didn't expect that.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Hanna is trying to escape the mount.
Mighty avoids the attempt from Hanna to control.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Mighty cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Mighty is looking to take Hanna's back but instead Hanna gets back to half guard. Nice work.
Mighty takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Trendar Mighty showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Nice takedown defense from Hanna. No joy for Mighty on that attempt.
Mighty doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Hanna counters with a right hand to the body.

Hanna darts in and clinches Mighty up against the cage.

Mighty manages to break the clinch.
Mighty is looking to clinch.
Hanna throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Mighty shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Hanna is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Hanna is in all sorts of trouble here.
Mighty can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Hanna is looking to escape.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Hanna is wriggling around trying to escape.

Mighty is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Hanna has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Hanna!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mighty manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Mighty quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Mighty but it's paid off an Hanna is forced to tap! Nice work by Mighty.
