The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for Ribeiro, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Ribeiro is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Ribeiro shoots in for a double leg but Tapia sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Lipidio Ribeiro is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Johnny Tapia has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lipidio Ribeiro.
Ribeiro shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Tapia pinned against the cage. Tapia gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Tapia lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Ribeiro sprawling to the canvas. Tapia follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Ribeiro hang on?

Ribeiro takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Tapia wants to stand up but Ribeiro is controlling the position.
