Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sydney Bender (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chaslov Westlum (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chaslov Westlum has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Ben Hemmingworth, Donatello Bradman and Steve Erwin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Westlum falls off balance throwing a combination
and Bender counters with a left to the body.

Westlum dives in and scores a takedown into Bender's guard.
Westlum works over Bender with some ground and pound from guard.
Westlum is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Bender is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Westlum stands and throws Bender's legs to the side, diving into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bender stops Westlum from passing to mount.
Bender tries to get back to half guard but can't.

That's one minute gone in the round.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Westlum throws a strike aimed at the side of Bender's head but Bender avoids it well.
Bender takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Westlum lands some shots froms side control.
Westlum controls the position.
Let's hope that Westlum has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Westlum.

Westlum has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Bender is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Westlum asserts his dominance and retains side control.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Bender is trying to get back to full guard.
Westlum takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Westlum seems to be looking for submissions.
Westlum prevents Bender from standing back up.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Westlum connects with a nice short shot to Bender's temple.
Westlum winds up and cracks Bender with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Bender has hold of Westlum's hands but Westlum slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Westlum is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Bender won't allow Westlum to pass to mount.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Westlum is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Bender is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Westlum scores with a couple of nice shots.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bender shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Westlum gets back to full guard.
Westlum manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Bender manages to get himself to full guard.

Westlum drops back, looking for a kneebar! Bender looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Bender looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Bender!

Bender really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Westlum has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Bender doesn't defend quickly enough and Westlum has managed to lock this one up! Can Bender escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Westlum on a fantastic submission victory.
