Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jeremy Ring (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mo Thanyoo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 41 - 25 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Jeremy Ring!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mo Thanyoo!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Steve Smith and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thanyoo bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Ring's head.
Thanyoo getting the better of the striking in that exchange.

Thanyoo looking to score a takedown here. Ring is defending well but Thanyoo drives through and ends up in Ring's guard.

Ring has his feet on Thanyoo's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

My spies in Hard Knocks Training inform me that Thanyoo has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
Thanyoo is keen to just control but Ring is a slippery customer.

Thanyoo looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Ring has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Thanyoo is on him like a limpet, forcing Ring back against the cage.

Thanyoo lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Ring backwards.
Ring lands a damaging elbow.

Thanyoo has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Ring is trying to keep an underhook but Thanyoo manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Thanyoo wants to work for an arm triangle but Ring is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Thanyoo is looking to take a break and control but Ring is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Ring is refusing to be controlled, as Thanyoo sits in half guard.
Thanyoo is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Ring reverses the position - he's now on top in Thanyoo's guard.

Thanyoo seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Ring wanted to stand there but Thanyoo had control of the position.

Thanyoo lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Jeremy Ring will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Ring's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Thanyoo shoots in for a takedown but Ring shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Ring is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Thanyoo pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Thanyoo is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Ring has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Ring!

Ring trying to stand up but can't free himself from Thanyoo's guard.

Ring got a little sloppy there for a moment and Thanyoo has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Ring has managed to get both his arms back between Thanyoo's legs - danger averted.

I would just about give that final round to Mo Thanyoo.
