PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Homer Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Demien Omen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jackson has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Homer Jackson looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Homer Jackson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Demien Omen!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Frank Dennis and Robert Twigg.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Omen throws a sloppy head kick and Jackson moves out of range easily.
Jackson looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Jackson looks to land a right hand but Omen moved out of range.

Omen drives through and clinches with Jackson against the cage.
Jackson wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Omen breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Omen shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Omen stays in close to Jackson's body and controls the position.
Omen stands and throws Jackson's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Omen content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Omen is working Jackson over with some ground and pound from side control.
Omen has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Omen stands up and beckons Jackson to his feet.

Omen fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Jackson sprawls well initially but Omen persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Omen moves into full mount! Jackson won't be happy about that!

Despite being in the dominant position, Demien Omen just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Omen clinches up against the cage.

Omen ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Omen no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Omen bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Jackson's guard.
Jackson is looking to sweep but instead, Omen has passed into half guard.

Omen is working for a kimura but Jackson is defending it quite comfortably.

Jackson misses with a takedown attempt
and Omen counters with a three punch combo that has Jackson backing up. Jackson nods at Omen to acknowledge the strikes.

Omen turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Omen manages to end up in side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's time! Jackson's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Omen lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.

Omen gets a takedown into half guard.
Omen is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

Omen is trying to work for a kimura but Jackson is defending well.

and Jackson counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Omen walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Omen misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Omen moves into range and clinches up with Jackson.

Omen shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Jackson's guard.

You get the feeling that Jackson really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Demien Omen showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Omen shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Jackson as he avoids it easily.

Omen drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Omen gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Jackson wants to break free but Omen has control.
Jackson fails to pull guard.
Omen stalling against the cage.
Omen has had enough of the clinch but Jackson keeps him there for the moment.

Omen controls Jackson momentarily but Jackson frees himself.
Omen has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Omen manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Jackson manages to get himself to full guard.

Jackson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Omen can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Jackson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Omen on the ground.
Omen is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Jackson doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Omen slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Jackson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Omen wants to control from the top but Jackson keeps moving.

Omen is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Jackson has an active guard here but Omen has managed to pass into half guard.
Omen takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Omen's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Jackson lands a couple of elbows.
Omen throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Omen throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

Omen pushes Jackson off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Demien Omen comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Omen has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
