PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Nicolas Bryan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Finn Balor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Nicolas Bryan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, John Mangel and Francis DeMontford.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Balor misses with a two punch combination.
Bryan tries for a takedown but Balor circles away easily
and Balor counters with a straight right hand.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Balor, as that shot connected.

It looks like Nicolas Bryan has been cut.

Bryan decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Balor wants to improve his position but Bryan is controlling well.

Bryan is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Balor doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Bryan.
Balor wants to get back to full guard.

Bryan could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Balor looking for a sweep. Not yet Balor, not yet.
Balor is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Balor thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Bryan with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Bryan stands up from Balor's guard - Bryan perhaps looking for a knockout.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Sloppy strikes from Balor. Those never looked like landing.
Balor lands a jab-cross combination.

Balor lands with an uppercut that bounces Bryan off the cage and back into range.
Bryan wants to clinch but Balor slips to the side
and Balor counters with a nice body shot.
Bryan takes one on the button.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Balor cracks Bryan with an open hand slap.
Oh Bryan is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Balor lands a jab and follows it up with a massive straight that knocks Bryan out cold! Bryan is crumpled in the corner, his head only propped up by the cage! That's one for the organiziational promos right there! Wow, what a finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Finn Balor!
Finn Balor decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
