Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cam Newton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Katsuya Yasumi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Newton might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Superman. Yasumi has chosen Lunchmoney Lewis-Real Thing as his entrance music. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Newton throws a good cross that connects.
It looks like Katsuya Yasumi has been cut.
Newton throws a lazy right hand but Yasumi sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Newton moves into range and connects with a jab.
Newton lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Yasumi circles away quickly and effectively.
Yasumi with the counter takedown but Newton avoids it easily.
Newton throws a combination that misses
and Yasumi counters with a right hand to the body.
Newton is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Newton takes a swing at Yasumi's ribcage but misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Newton throws a left and a right that both miss
letting Yasumi counter with a right hand.
Newton misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Yasumi.
Yasumi is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Newton with a body shot.
Newton throws a body shot but no joy.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Nice uppercut lands for Newton. That snapped Yasumi's head back.
Newton gets in close and tags Yasumi with a short punch that almost sends Yasumi to the mat! Oh Yasumi is in big trouble! He turns his back on Newton, trying to create some distance but Newton rushes him, striking wildly and Yasumi goes down! The referee tackles Newton into the cage to end the fight! Newton is one violent man!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Cam Newton!
Cam Newton seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
Katsuya Yasumi was interviewed post fight and said 'Tokiniwa jinsei wa suimasu'.
