Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Vito Mcpherson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andy Peel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Vito Mcpherson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Andy Peel!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Trevor Gratis and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Peel clinches with his opponent.

Peel breaks from the clinch.
Mcpherson has a takedown stuffed.

Peel feints and as Mcpherson raises his hands in defense, Peel changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Mcpherson wants to stand and escape but Peel is having none of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Peel sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Peel wants to pass the guard but Mcpherson is keeping the position.
Peel must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mcpherson can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Peel controls the pace.

Peel passes Mcpherson's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Peel prevents Mcpherson from standing back up.
Peel wants to pass the guard but Mcpherson is defending well.
Mcpherson is looking for a sweep. Peel is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Mcpherson is looking to escape.

Peel is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Mcpherson has managed to free his arm - good work.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Peel works his way into side control.
Peel tries to stand but Mcpherson is controlling his head.
You can see the frustration on Mcpherson's face as Peel controls the position.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Mcpherson tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Peel defends well and Mcpherson ends up having to push Peel into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Mcpherson.

Mcpherson avoids the elbow strike from Peel, against the cage.
Mcpherson tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Peel smiles and moves away.
Peel should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Peel closes the distance and clinches.

Peel pulls Mcpherson into guard.
Peel wants to improve his position but instead Mcpherson has moved into half guard.
Peel is trying to stand back up but Mcpherson is controlling him
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Peel closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Mcpherson wants a takedown but no success here.

Peel ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Peel no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Peel is looking for a triangle but Mcpherson pushes his legs off easily.
Peel wants to stand up but Mcpherson is controlling him.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Peel is on top in guard.

Mcpherson wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Peel manages to pass to side control.

Peel is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Peel works his way into side control.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Peel slows the pace down.

Mcpherson explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!
Peel pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Peel closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Peel gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Mcpherson.

Mcpherson is fighting off a takedown attempt but Peel is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Mcpherson to the mat. Mcpherson regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Mcpherson is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Peel presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Mcpherson has Peel pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Peel manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vito Mcpherson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Peel wants the takedown. Mcpherson is fighting it off but Peel persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Mcpherson's guard against the cage.

Mcpherson has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Peel has passed into side control.

Andy Peel showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Mcpherson manages to get to full guard.
Mcpherson thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Peel with a nice head shot there.
Peel stands and throws Mcpherson's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Peel tries to move into full mount but can't pass Mcpherson's legs.
Peel staying calm.
Peel has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Mcpherson prevents Peel from moving into mount.

Peel is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Mcpherson is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Mcpherson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Mcpherson is looking for a sweep.

Peel taking a breather here.
Peel's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Well Peel has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
