Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Steel Ground (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Niel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, John Niel!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ground throws a hook but Niel blocks it.
Niel lands a nice leg kick that just misses Ground's sensitive parts.
Ground throws a hook to the side of Niel's head but Niel sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Niel throws a head kick that half lands.
Ground rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Niel makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Ground really felt that one!
Niel lands with a nice body punch.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Ground misses with a straight left.
Niel throws a nice head kick!
Niel lands an overhand right.
Ground swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Niel comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Ground has his takedown stuffed
and Niel counters with a stiff right hand.
Ground throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Niel looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Ground walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Niel ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
A chopping leg kick lands by Niel.
Niel defending well as Ground loads up on a big left hand.
Ground missing with a left hand there. Niel was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Niel is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Niel pushes Ground away with a front kick.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Ground throws a hook to the side of Niel's head but Niel sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
A nice side step and Niel releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Ground takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Ground throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Niel's waist but Niel gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Ground off to one side.
Ground misses with a looping right.
Niel lands a body shot.
Niel connects with a high kick.
Ground fails with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Steel Ground. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ground dives in and grabs Niel's left leg, looking for a takedown. Niel pushes down on Ground's head and hops out.
Niel goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Ground with a poor takedown
and Niel cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Niel scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Niel lands a nice looking body kick.
Ground is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Niel's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Niel jabs Ground right on the nose. Ground blinks but takes it well.

Ground is rocked!
Niel scores with a nice right hand.
Oh Ground is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Niel throws a quick inside leg kick.
Niel circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Ground to the canvas! Ground doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Niel keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!
