PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Joe Vena (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Scott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Scott has chosen DMX - Ain't No Sunshine as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Johanna Lukiainen and Marco Blurström.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Scott looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Scott throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Vena counters with a nice uppercut.
Vena throws a series of strikes that have Scott backpedaling.

It looks like Michael Scott has been cut.

Scott scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

Vena explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Vena throws a series of punches but Scott moves out of range.
Scott is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.

Scott bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Scott is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Vena will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Vena is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Scott wants to lay and pray for a moment but Vena keeps working.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Scott lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.

Scott wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Vena, who protects the arm well.
Vena can't do much from the bottom here.
Scott tries to score with some ground and pound. Vena controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Scott is working to tighten his grip on Vena's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Vena has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Scott is really squeezing tight and eventually Vena passes out! Scott breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
