The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ortiz moves into the clinch successfully.
Ortiz can't find room to land a body shot as Matthews controls the action.
Ortiz is looking to control Matthews's arms but Matthews gets an underhook and turns him. Now Ortiz has his back to the cage.
Matthews tries to land knees in the clinch but Ortiz avoids the damage to the body.
Ortiz wants a takedown but no success here.

and Matthews counters with a single leg into guard. Ortiz didn't expect that.
Ortiz is looking to stand back up but Matthews counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Ortiz.

Matthews looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Ortiz with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ortiz tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Matthews has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
