Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Peter Hurst (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Philipp Haider (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Peter Hurst!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Philipp Haider!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Haider closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Hurst to the mat! Hurst manages to get full guard.

Hurst is looking for a triangle but Haider pushes his legs off easily.
Haider content to stall in guard here.

Hurst escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Haider gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Hurst wants to get back to his feet but Haider is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Hurst looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

Haider got a little sloppy there for a moment and Hurst has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Haider has managed to get both his arms back between Hurst's legs - danger averted.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Haider trying to control the position from guard on top but Hurst is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Haider is standing up over Hurst. Hurst looks to escape but Haider dives into side control.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hurst wants to control but Haider postures up.
Haider taking a breather here.
Hurst stops Haider from passing to mount.
Hurst is trying to get back to half guard.

Haider decides to take the fight back to the feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Haider changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Hurst looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Hurst throws Haider to one side and escapes!
Philipp Haider seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Haider shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Hurst's guard.
Haider passes into half guard.

Haider decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

Haider closes the distance and clinches.
Hurst jumps guard but Haider stands there with Hurst around his waist. Hurst gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Hurst is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Haider can't fight it off and eventually Hurst manages to take the fight to the floor. Haider looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hurst sitting in guard here, content to control.
Haider wants to sweep here but Hurst controlling him for the moment.
Hurst will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Hurst is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Hurst's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Hurst wants to stand but Haider is controlling his posture from full guard.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Haider clinches up against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Philipp Haider dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Hurst misses with a takedown attempt

and Haider counters with a crisp one two that drops Hurst! Haider thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Hurst to his feet! Hurst is in big trouble!


Hurst is rocked!
Nice body kick from Haider.
Oh Hurst is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Haider throws a shot to the body.
Haider thuds a left hand into Hurst's body.
Hurst backs away from a small jab... but Haider lunges forward with a huge superman punch! Hurst crumples to the ground as his mouth piece is sent flying! Haider with a spectacular finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:17 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Superman Punch). Philipp Haider!
