Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Adam James!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Denis Ortiz!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Alyssa Summers and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

James gets a clinch.
James misses with a punch to the body.

James breaks the clinch.
Ortiz is looking to clinch but James is avoiding it.
Denis Ortiz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ortiz throws a right hand that James ducks under and follows up with a left that James also avoids with ease.
Ortiz checks the leg kick nicely there.

Ortiz closes the distance and pushes James back into the ropes.
James lands a shoulder strike.

Ortiz's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Ortiz clinches up against the ropes.

James breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Ortiz just misses with a punch to the body.
Ortiz throws a series of punches but James avoids them all with ease.
James tries to counter by clinching up but Ortiz breaks away and moves out of range.
James swats away the attempt to clinch by Ortiz.
James is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
James scores with a jab.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
James keeps the fight on the outside.
James was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

That's one minute gone in the round.
James scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Ortiz doesn't seem bothered though.
Ortiz tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Jab by James.
Ortiz fails with an attempt to clinch.
An attempted straight right counter from James misses the target.

Ortiz rushes James and pushes him back against the ropes in a clinch.
James trying to stall but Ortiz improves his position.

James manages to break the clinch.

Ortiz moves into range and clinches up with James.
James digs a right hand into Ortiz's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Ortiz's gas tank.
With the two fighters working up against the ropes, Ortiz just misses with a elbow thrown towards James's brow.
James lands a hook to the side of the head.

James's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Ortiz instigates a clinch.

James breaks from the clinch.

Ortiz clinches with his opponent.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Ortiz breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
James scores with a shot to the body.
Ortiz looks winded!
Ortiz tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but James paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Ortiz tries to bum rush James with a series of wild strikes but James uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Ortiz just misses with a punch to the body.
James digs a good body shot into Ortiz's ribs.
James with a hook.


It looks like Denis Ortiz has been cut.
James connects with a single shot there.

James darts in and clinches Ortiz up against the ropes.
With the fighters clinched against the ropes, James creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

James pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Ortiz walks into a straight right hand and goes down! James rushes to a neutral corner so the count doesn't get delayed but Ortiz has made it back to his feet on 5. He's OK so we're back to the action.


Ortiz is rocked!
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

James has managed to clinch.
James lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Ortiz backwards.

Ortiz's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Ortiz misses with a wild combination.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Adam James should take that round, based on the knockdown.
The cut man is working on Denis Ortiz's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


James weaves into range and cracks Ortiz right on the temple with a beautiful overhand right! Ortiz goes down! He's out cold! Wow, what a beautiful knockout! James is strutting round the canvas like a movie star as the camera bulbs flash frantically.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Adam James!
