Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Sheldon Crosby (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daniel Larusso (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Daniel Larusso has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Sheldon Crosby's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Sheldon Crosby!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Daniel Larusso!
The judges for this bout are , Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Larusso darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Crosby might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Larusso stops Crosby from getting back to his feet.
Larusso is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Crosby is positioning himself well to prevent Larusso advancing to mount.
Larusso tries to pass to full mount but Crosby defends it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Larusso is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Crosby has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Larusso is working away from the top position though.
Larusso working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Crosby trying to control but Larusso postures up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Still in half guard, Larusso seems content to control.
Larusso not landing any meaningful shots this time.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Crosby is holding on to half guard well.
Crosby wants to control but Larusso is keeping busy and won't allow it.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Crosby is trying hard to land a takedown here. Larusso sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Daniel Larusso seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Larusso shoots in and bounces Crosby off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Larusso has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Crosby is trying to hold Larusso in close to prevent damage but Larusso has managed to pass into half guard.
Larusso takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Let's hope that Larusso has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Larusso works his foot free and advances to mount.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Larusso scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Crosby?

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Crosby shoots in for a takedown but Larusso shows good takedown defense.
Crosby avoids a kick to the body.

Larusso shoots in and gets a takedown into Crosby's guard.

Crosby pushes Larusso off and scrambles back to his feet.

Larusso looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Crosby could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Crosby is trying to keep Larusso in close.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Larusso slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Larusso tries to stand but Crosby is controlling from the bottom.
Larusso sitting in guard here, content to control.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Larusso just misses with a punch to the body.
A combination from Crosby does no damage.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Larusso motions for Crosby to come forward. Larusso throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Larusso has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Crosby fails with the takedown

and Larusso holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Larusso lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Larusso keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Crosby is trying to control but can't.

Larusso is trying to work for a kimura but Crosby is defending well.
Larusso lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Larusso content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Crosby punching from the bottom.

Larusso is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Crosby is just riding it out for now. Larusso eventually gives up the hold.
Well, if Larusso is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Crosby wants to get back to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Daniel Larusso showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Larusso throws a nice looking combination but Crosby bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Crosby displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Larusso.
Crosby shoots in looking for a takedown. Larusso tries to sprawl out of it but Crosby keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Larusso manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Larusso is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Daniel Larusso has got the better of the ground game so far.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Crosby controls Larusso momentarily but Larusso frees himself.
Larusso wants to stand but Crosby is controlling his posture from full guard.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Crosby blocks a leg kick.
Crosby shoots in but Larusso avoids the takedown attempt easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Crosby tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Larusso defends well and Crosby ends up having to push Larusso into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sheldon Crosby. That's going to take a lot out of him.
No luck for Crosby with that takedown attempt.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Larusso throws a body kick that misses.

Larusso closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Crosby did well to prevent Larusso getting side control.

Larusso uses his free foot to push down on Crosby's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Crosby.
A nice elbow there by Larusso.
Larusso lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Larusso lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.


Crosby is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Larusso looking to control and managing it successfully.
Oh Crosby is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Crosby is just holding on here. Larusso manages to take his back.

Larusso has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Crosby! Can he survive? No! He's out! Larusso gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
