Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Phil Perez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Bashaad Al Hammad!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Seu Braga and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck for Perez with that takedown attempt.
And Al Hammad tries to counter it with a takedown but Perez pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Al Hammad drives through with a takedown into guard.
Perez being controlled here, momentarily.
Al Hammad scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Perez looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Al Hammad lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Al Hammad advances to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Perez has hold of Al Hammad's hands but Al Hammad slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Ground and pound from Al Hammad.
Al Hammad stalling.
Al Hammad tries to pass the half guard into mount. Perez knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Perez moves into full guard.

Perez has his foot on Al Hammad's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Al Hammad works his way back into a safe position though.
Al Hammad working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Perez's head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Perez wants to improve his position but instead Al Hammad has moved into half guard.
Al Hammad performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Al Hammad lands a nice short elbow.
Al Hammad winds up and cracks Perez with a swinging punch to the side of the head.


Perez is rocked!
Al Hammad scores with a big shot! Perez's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save Perez! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Bashaad Al Hammad!
