PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Felix Stout (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jackinho Pau Seboso (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jackinho Pau Seboso will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Felix Stout!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jackinho Pau Seboso!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Emerson Jorge and Seu Braga.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Stout shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Pau Seboso's guard.
Stout is looking to work some ground and pound but Pau Seboso has wrist control.
Stout scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Stout could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Stout postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Pau Seboso looking to hit a scissor sweep but Stout is one step ahead there.
Stout has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Pau Seboso keeps trying to improve his position.
Pau Seboso is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Stout working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Pau Seboso pulls Stout in close to prevent any damage.

Pau Seboso wants to stand but Stout is controlling the position.

Pau Seboso utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Pau Seboso not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Pau Seboso is looking to sweep but instead, Stout has passed into half guard.
Pau Seboso wants to get back to full guard.
Pau Seboso wants to control but Stout is keeping busy.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Stout is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Pau Seboso wants to get back to full guard but Stout has passed into side control.
Stout working away.

Stout looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Pau Seboso is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Stout asserts his dominance and retains side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Stout working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Stout tries for a kimura but Pau Seboso is defending well.
Stout scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Pau Seboso to see if he's OK.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Pau Seboso is looking to reverse the position.
Stout looks up at the clock and then as Pau Seboso takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Stout smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Felix Stout dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Stout changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Pau Seboso tries to avoid it but Stout manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Pau Seboso to the ground. Pau Seboso escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Pau Seboso flicks out a counter leg kick but Stout steps away.
Stout shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Pau Seboso finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.
Pau Seboso tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Stout defends well and Pau Seboso ends up having to push Stout into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Pau Seboso throws a sloppy head kick and Stout moves out of range easily.
Stout looked to counter with a high kick but didn't commit.
Pau Seboso fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Stout avoids it really well and circles away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pau Seboso throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Jackinho Pau Seboso seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Stout shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Pau Seboso tries to kick Stout off in order to stand up. Stout Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.

That's one minute gone in the round.
You can see the frustration on Pau Seboso's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Pau Seboso is breathing heavily.
Pau Seboso wants to control but Stout postures up.

Stout has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Pau Seboso is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Stout yanks on the arm and Pau Seboso is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Stout.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Felix Stout!
