And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Illya Tyunina and Aleksei Zolotukhin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Shishkin gets a takedown into half guard.

Shishkin throws a strike but Barrett avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
Shishkin looking to sit in guard and control but Barrett gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.


Barrett is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Shishkin is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Shishkin has escaped and now he's on top!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Barrett can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Shishkin controls the pace.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Shishkin.
Shishkin wants to take a breather but Barrett manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Shishkin.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Shishkin is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Barrett is in close to Shishkin's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Barrett gets caught napping as Shishkin dives in and scores a takedown. Barrett manages to retain guard.

Barrett takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Shishkin cracks Barrett with a big elbow.

That was a close second round but I would say that Elvin Barrett will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!


Barrett avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Shishkin shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Barrett manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Barrett pushes Shishkin off and gets back to his feet.
Elvin Barrett is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Shishkin changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Barrett looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Shishkin misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Barrett might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Shishkin tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Barrett is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Shishkin is controlling him well.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Shishkin has Barrett pulled in close to control his posture.
Shishkin manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Barrett manages to get himself to full guard.

Shishkin must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Shishkin throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Barrett works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Well Shishkin has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
