The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mcintyre is trying hard to land a takedown here. Lianjie sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Mcintyre closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Lianjie quickly recovers to half guard.

Mcintyre has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Lianjie can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Mcintyre really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Li Lianjie seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Lianjie replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Mcintyre blocks it well.

Lianjie throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Mcintyre was covering up waiting for the punch and Lianjie finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Mcintyre is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Lianjie gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Mcintyre dives in for a single leg takedown but Lianjie sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Lianjie uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Lianjie throws a right and a left that Mcintyre avoids nicely.

Mcintyre gets tackled into the cage by Lianjie. Lianjie maintains the clinch.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mcintyre seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression.
Lianjie has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Come on Mcintyre - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.

Lianjie throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Lianjie goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Mcintyre shoots in looking for a takedown but Lianjie manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Mcintyre's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Lianjie closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Lianjie lands in his opponent's guard.

Mcintyre kicks Lianjie off and gets to his feet.

Lianjie throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

Mcintyre tries for a takedown but Lianjie sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Oh Mcintyre is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
