Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Eric Heronzo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kurt Dux (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dux takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Dux jabs Heronzo right on the nose. Heronzo blinks but takes it well.
Dux connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

Heronzo dives in and scores a takedown into Dux's guard.

Dux gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Heronzo to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Heronzo is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Dux clobbers Heronzo with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Heronzo shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Dux manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Heronzo shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Dux napping and manages to drive through into side control!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Dux feints a jab promting Heronzo to slip. Dux then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Heronzo slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Dux lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Dux makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

Heronzo is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Dux defends it well.

Dux might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Dux is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Heronzo got a little sloppy there for a moment and Dux has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Heronzo has managed to get both his arms back between Dux's legs - danger averted.

Heronzo takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Dux throws a right hand that Heronzo ducks under and follows up with a left that Heronzo also avoids with ease.
It looked like Heronzo wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Heronzo is trying to drag Dux to the mat but Dux just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Dux is trying to push Heronzo away but Heronzo has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Heronzo breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Heronzo is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Dux is just riding it out for now. Heronzo eventually gives up the hold.
