The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lancaster tries to clinch

and Gilbert counters with a shoot takedown. Lancaster fights it but they end up in guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Gilbert is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Gilbert is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Lancaster working for a triangle but Gilbert defends it easily.

Lancaster has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Gilbert can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Gilbert with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Gilbert has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Lancaster to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Gilbert is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Lancaster pulls down on the head and he's put Gilbert to sleep! This one is all over!
