Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Frank Barant (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and George Veli (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Frank Barant!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, George Veli!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Steve Erwin and Hugh Johnson.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Veli gets tackled into the cage by Barant. Barant maintains the clinch.
Barant wants to break free but Veli has control.
Barant misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Veli.
Barant taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
Barant scores with a shoulder strike.

Veli turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Veli manages to end up in side control.

Barant throws Veli to one side and escapes!
Sloppy strikes from Barant. Those never looked like landing.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

and Veli counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Barant manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

Veli wants to control from the top but Barant keeps moving.
Veli seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Veli's corner is telling him to maintain position.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Barant is trying to stand up here but Veli is controlling him well.
Veli wants to pass to mount but Barant is defending the position.
Veli perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Veli is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Barant sees it coming and defends easily.
Barant pushes Veli off looking to stand but Veli dives back in and keeps control.
Well, if Veli is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Veli seems to be working for a kimura but Barant defends the submission attempt.

Veli is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Barant is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Barant flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Veli anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Barant and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Veli slips an arm under Barant chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Veli has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Veli is squeezing on Barant like an anaconda would it's prey. Barant fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
