The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones takes a swing at Batts's ribcage but misses.
Batts wants to counter with a clinch but Jones pushes him away.
Jones is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Batts scores with a hook.
Batts lands with an uppercut that bounces Jones off the cage and back into range.
Jones lands the left hand.

It looks like Peter Batts has been cut.
Batts connects with a crisp jab.
Jones swinging wildly here.
Batts lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Jones fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Batts manages to avoid it.
Batts moves away from the strike by Jones.
Batts connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

Jones takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Batts closes this distance looking for a takedown but Jones circles away.
Batts fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Jones takes a head kick and keeps coming.

Batts catches Jones with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
A head kick from Batts lands but Jones takes it in his stride.
Batts connects with a right hand. Jones shakes it off.
Jones lands a nice shot that snaps Batts's head back.
Batts uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Jones.

Batts shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Peter Batts seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Batts plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Jones throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Jones misses with an uppercut. Batts saw that one coming.
Batts bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Batts connects with a jab.

Batts fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Batts decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Jones is trying to stand back up but Batts is controlling him

Jones has hold of Batts's hands but Batts slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Batts stops Jones from getting back to his feet.
Batts scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Jones pushes Batts off looking to stand but Batts dives back in and keeps control.
Batts is pressing down on Jones's thigh, looking to free his foot. Jones is holding on for now.

Batts is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Batts is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Jones is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
