The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lestrange throws a head kick that misses.
Whittaker throws a low kick, looking for Lestrange's leg but Lestrange calmly moves out of range.
Whittaker tries to bum rush Lestrange with a series of wild strikes but Lestrange uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Whittaker misses with a hook. Lestrange ducked under it nicely.
Lestrange misses with a series of wild punches.
Whittaker moves into range and connects with a jab.
Lestrange takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Whittaker plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Whittaker looks to throw the jab but Lestrange is out of range.

Lestrange tries to close the distance and clinch but Whittaker swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Whittaker throws a series of punches but Lestrange avoids them all with ease.
Whittaker throws a right hand that Lestrange ducks under and follows up with a left that Lestrange also avoids with ease.

Lestrange gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Whittaker makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Lestrange avoids a kick to the body.
Good exchange - Whittaker coming out on top.
Lestrange moves out of range of the strikes.
Lestrange avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Whittaker turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Whittaker's corner calls for a 1-2. Whittaker obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Whittaker throws a big counter combination but Lestrange scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.

Lestrange tries to score a power double leg takedown but Whittaker sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Lestrange somewhat.
Robert Whittaker has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Fred Lestrange.
Whittaker throws a sloppy head kick and Lestrange moves out of range easily.
Whittaker throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Lestrange sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Lestrange unleashes a big counter combination but Whittaker bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.

Lestrange darts in looking for a takedown but Whittaker gets double underhooks and turns Lestrange into the cage.

And Whittaker counters with a quick kick to the body but Lestrange blocks it.

Lestrange closes the distance and clinches.

Lestrange is working for takedown but Whittaker is calmly controlling the position for now.

Lestrange breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Whittaker throws out a powerful jab.

Lestrange moves out of range as Whittaker strikes.
Whittaker ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Lestrange misses with a wild combination.
Whittaker misses with a hook.

Lestrange looks winded!
Lestrange avoids the body shot from Whittaker.

Oooooh!!! Whittaker has knocked Lestrange down with a huge combo! Whittaker steps away and waves a wobbly Lestrange back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Lestrange leaves his chin hanging out and Whittaker seizes the opportunity with an uppercut! Lestrange crumbles to the floor in a heap! The referee steps in and tends to the downed fighter! What a knockout!
