Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Omar Parks!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Robert Root!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Columbo Gatti and Jonathan Paton.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Root darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Root prevents Parks from improving his position.
Well, if Root is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Root is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Parks misses with some strikes from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Root controlling the action here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Parks trying to hold on to Root's head to control him but Root postures up.
Parks tries to roll over but Root keeps him under control.
Root looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Parks knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Root on the ground.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Root slows the pace down in half guard.
Parks really is a fat lump.
Root winds up and cracks Parks with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
It looks like Omar Parks has been cut.
Parks avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Root.
Root is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Root moves nicely into side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Root decides to stand back up.
Root fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Parks avoids it really well and circles away.
Root shoots in for a takedown but Parks shows good takedown defense.
Parks tries to counter by clinching up but Root breaks away and moves out of range.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Root.
Omar Parks has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Robert Root.
Root instigates a clinch.
Root is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Root manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Root lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Parks is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Root scores with a couple of nice shots.
Omar Parks's cut is getting worse.
Root prevents Parks from standing back up.
Parks wants to stand back up but Root manages to pass into side control.
Root is trying to get an arm triangle but Parks is defending well.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Root working away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Robert Root dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Omar Parks's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Root lands a left and a right that send Parks crashing to the mat, dazed. Root thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Parks is rocked!
Root shoots in for a takedown. SLAM! Brutal! Parks is out cold and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:11 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Slam). Robert Root!
