The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson takes a swing at Rogan's ribcage but misses.

Johnson throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Rogan sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Rogan shoots in looking for a takedown but Johnson manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Rogan's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Rogan closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Rogan lands in his opponent's guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Johnson can do anything to dispel that myth.

Johnson controls Rogan momentarily but Rogan frees himself.
Rogan is looking to work some ground and pound but Johnson has wrist control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Rogan dives in for a single leg takedown but Johnson sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Rogan shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Johnson sprawls well. Johnson wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Rogan gets slowly back to his feet.

Rogan uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Johnson.

Rogan doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Johnson counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
