The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Song takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Song throws a leg kick
and Irving cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Song tries a head kick but it misses.
Song falls off balance throwing a combination
and Irving counters with a left to the body.
Song wants to clinch.
A slow jab from Song misses its intended target.
Irving dodges the punch combination from Song.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Irving jabs Song right on the nose. Song blinks but takes it well.
Sloppy strikes from Irving. Those never looked like landing.

Song has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Irving dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Song has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Irving finds it's way round the side to connect with Song's head.
Irving fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Song looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Song takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Song closes the distance but Irving moves to the side
and Irving counters with a nice uppercut.
Song uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Irving.
Kyrie Irving is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Song throws a nice looking combination but Irving bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Irving has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Irving grits his teeth and throws a big right-left combo! Song takes both shots clean on the chin and is out cold! Irving cracks him once more on his way down, as the crowd goes wild! They enjoyed that one!

Kyrie Irving decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
