The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

James clinches up with Byers and pushes him back against the cage.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.

James breaks from the clinch.
James tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Byers swivels and escapes.
James fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

James takes the fight into the clinch.
Byers tries to stall but James uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Byers successfully pulls guard.
Byers wants to sweep but no luck.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Byers is working an open guard so James takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
James fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Barrett Byers has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of George James.

Excellent takedown into side control there by James.

Byers is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked James off and has taken his back!

Byers has the hooks in and he's looking for a rear naked choke here. James is defending well but eventually Byers manages to get an arm under the chin and he's locked on the RNC! James has no choice but to tap now! He does! This one is all over!
