The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kovalskii fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Donovan sprawls well initially but Kovalskii persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Donovan really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Kovalskii is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Donovan has managed to free his arm - good work.

Donovan has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Kovalskii is working away from the top position though.

Kovalskii has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Donovan defend it? Kovalskii steps over the head and cranks it - Donovan is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Kovalskii!
