Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Keith Morton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Santeri Salama (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Keith Morton has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Keith Morton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Santeri Salama!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Ben Zyskovitsi and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Salama gets caught napping as Morton dives in and scores a takedown. Salama manages to retain guard.
Morton throws a strike but Salama rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.


Salama drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Morton dives on top into guard.

Morton working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Salama's head.
Salama really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Morton. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Salama has momentary wrist control but Morton slips an elbow through the middle.
Morton has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Morton lands a couple of decent looking shots.

Salama working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Morton has passed into half guard!

Morton is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Salama is looking for a sweep. Morton is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Salama has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Morton escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Morton!

Salama is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Morton wants to control but Salama is keeping him busy.

Morton is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Salama has escaped the position, nice work there.
Morton in side control lands a decent elbow.
Salama looking for a sweep but Morton has passed into full mount! Oh no!
Salama tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Morton landing strikes, looking to finish!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Morton can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Salama is looking to escape.
Morton lands with some strikes.
Morton will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

BOOM! Morton connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Morton lands with some strikes.
Morton lands a big shot there that rocks Salama but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Morton scoring with strikes but Salama is staying in there.
Salama is looking to improve his position but Morton isn't that keen on the idea.
Morton trying to control but he's not successful this time.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Salama can do anything to dispel that myth.
Salama is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Morton in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Morton connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Morton cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Morton looking for a guillotine from mount but Salama is having none of it.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Salama is looking to get to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Keith Morton dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Salama drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Salama swings around for an armbar but Morton sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Salama's guard.
Morton stays in close to Salama's body and controls the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Salama is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Morton postures up and lands a big shot to Salama's brow.

Salama isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Morton stacks Salama on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Morton!
Salama tries to improve position but can't.
Morton lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Salama down.

Salama tries to reverse the position but Morton maintains control.

Morton cracks Salama with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Salama is breathing heavily.
Salama has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.
Morton controlling well, preventing Salama from escaping the position.
Watch the back of the head! Comes the shout from the referee towards Morton.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Morton lands a punch to the side of the head from the back.

I really don't envy Salama right now.
Morton landing with strikes.
Morton has good solid back control here.

Salama has hold of Morton's leg, trying to break free but it's let Morton lock up a rear naked choke! This could be big trouble! Salama is turning an unusual color here… he's out! Morton throws him to one side and jumps onto the cage to celebrate with his fans.
