Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lou Dalton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Malicia Gordo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gordo shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Dalton manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Gordo accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Gordo is in close to Dalton's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Dalton not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Gordo controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Dalton has momentary wrist control but Gordo slips an elbow through the middle.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dalton wants to sweep but no luck.
Dalton manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Gordo manages to get himself to full guard.

Gordo is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Gordo can do anything to dispel that myth.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Gordo fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Dalton, pushing him back against the cage.

Dalton has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Gordo uses from the top position.

Gordo postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Dalton is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Gordo, into his guard.

Gordo shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Dalton napping and manages to drive through into side control!
