Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sage Sabin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jerry Avala (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sabin comes to the cage accompanied by Supersonic - Oasis. Jerry Avala is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sabin moves out of range of the body kick from Avala.
Avala shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Sabin counters with a stiff right hand.
Sabin throws a lazy uppercut
and Avala counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
A punch lands to the side of Avala 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Sabin lands with an overhand left.
Sabin tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Avala was well out of range. Poor timing from Sabin.
Sabin throws a right hand that Avala ducks under and follows up with a left that Avala also avoids with ease.
Avala is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Sabin ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Sabin lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Avala circles away quickly and effectively.
Sabin throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Avala.
Sabin walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Sabin ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Avala moves away.
Avala steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Sabin.
Sabin throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Avala.
Avala throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Sabin's waist but Sabin gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Avala off to one side.
Sabin was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Sage Sabin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jerry Avala.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Nice uppercut lands for Sabin. That snapped Avala's head back.

Sabin rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Avala moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Sabin takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

It looked like Sabin wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Avala takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Sabin misses with a double jab.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Avala! But no joy.

Avala moves into the clinch.
Sabin is looking to break free of the clinch but Avala has double underhooks.

Avala uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Sabin.

Avala tries to close the distance and clinch but Sabin swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Sabin throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Avala.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Avala is defended easily by Sabin.

Avala wants to clinch up but Sabin keeps it at a distance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sabin throws a series of punches but Avala avoids them all with ease.
Sage Sabin is winning the standup battle so far.
Sabin stalks Avala and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Avala's face. Avala staggers backwards, shaken.

It looks like Jerry Avala has been cut.

and Sabin counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

and Sabin counters with a crisp one two that drops Avala! Sabin thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Avala to his feet! Avala is in big trouble!

Avala is rocked!
Avala is breathing heavily.

and Sabin counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts Avala! He's just covering up as Sabin starts to tee off till the referee steps in and stops the fight!
